Post Apocalyptic Summertime Blues
Not really.
That title just popped into my head and I had to use it.
If I were any sort of musician, I would write a parody song with that title and base it off of the late Glenn Fry's "Smugglers Blues."
I do that. A lot.
I make up parody song lyrics.
Tried to do one for my second stepson, Drew, for his birthday. (His is 7 days after mine. He's 18 now.)
Came up with this:
Hello XBox my old friend
I've come to play on you again
Because the game that I just ended
Seemed more dull than I expected
And my mind needs way more
Active roleplay
I'm here today
To play, with my new console
Didn't finish that but you get the idea. Do I really need to say what song I'm parodying? I don't want to.
Frankly, I hate the fucker.

He's been doing this since before the 2016 election, which went south for progressives and now the world does seem to be heading toward global environmental holocaust. As of this writing, much of the United States is in the midst of an arctic freeze.
It's scary. What's even more scary is that these deep colds are being used as "proof" that "global warming" is a myth. First of all, "global warming" is only one aspect of worldwide climate change. These deep colds are proof that the climate is indeed changing. Summers are getting hotter so, it stands to reason, winters will get colder. Yes, some cold is expected but these temperatures are frightening.
I do wonder if it is all self-fulfilling prophecy. Much of the country believes that where will be some sort of cataclysmic, world-ending event so they seem to do all they can to contribute to that. They don't seem to realize that these events do involve the deaths of millions of people. I guess they think they will be saved?
For me, personally, I say the sooner this blue jewel shakes off the plague of humanity, the happier the animals will be. I welcome the Simian overlords or the Cephalopod Masters. They can't damage this planet any worse than what humans have done.
