Kaylee Frye
To celebrate the event of my birth, each year I do strive to get myself something special. A gift from me to me for being, well, me.
It's selfish. I admit that freely.
But it makes me happy.
This year was no exception.
However, my present this year will probably be the one that I will remember forever.
Ladies and jellyspoons, I give you the newest member of our ever-expanding family:
Kaylee Frye
Kaylee (named after the wizard mechanic on Firefly) is 13 weeks old and a Chihuahua/Terrier mix. She probably won't get too much bigger than she is now, which is about 5 lbs.
She has already managed to steal my heart with her deep, dark eyes.
She's young so she needs regular supervision (mainly to make sure she knows that pee-pee and poo-poo happen outside of the house) but otherwise, she is content to chew on various toys, blankets, pillows, and fingers and run around to see what the family expects from her.
She is a rescue from the mean streets of Los Angeles in California and was brought up here as part of a mass rescue operation to get homes for lost and abandoned pets. She had a sibling, a boy, who was already spoken for. That's fine. Kaylee is all we need.
I let her sleep often but do try to keep her active and awake from 5pm until bedtime so she will sleep longer. She's a fitful sleeper so the more tired she is, the more restful she is.
My baby. I love her so.
