There Is No Excuse for Meryl Streep Not to Win for "Julie & Julia"
Just got back from seeing the film "Julie & Julia." Utterly delightful. It's a celebration of food and life and finding one's calling. For Julie, it was to write. For Julia, it was to cook.
Meryl Streep is divine in this film. She's having such a ball (she seems to truly enjoy her craft, doesn't she?) playing Julia Child. She made Julia Child approachable, giving breath and life to a culinary icon. That is the power of Meryl Streep's talent. This is not the first portrayal of a historic character for her. There is a reason why she is so good at it.
Academy voters... Give Meryl her due! She must be nominated and she must win!
